Home appliances

In addition to their use in industrial settings, AFTC's acrylic foam tapes are also widely utilized in the production of home appliances, specifically in the white goods sector. Kitchen tops, ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and coffeemakers are just a few examples of the appliances that can benefit from the exceptional bonding properties of AFTC Industrial SilverTapes.

These tapes offer a cost-effective and efficient solution for securely bonding plastic-based materials, such as the ones commonly used in home appliances. Their ability to withstand extreme temperatures, moisture, and other environmental factors make them an ideal choice for appliance manufacturers who prioritize durability and longevity in their products.

Moreover, the SilverTape series options available from AFTC allow for customized solutions for specific needs. For example, the LSE series is an excellent option for bonding low-surface-energy plastics, while the Plastics series is designed for bonding to plastics with high surface energy.

Overall, AFTC Industrial SilverTapes offer a reliable and effective bonding solution for white goods manufacturers seeking to enhance the durability and quality of their products.

Instrument panels (Washing machine)

Instrument panels (Washing machine)

Instrument panels are mostly made of plastics. To bond these plastics you can choose between many SilverTape series (Direct Foam-, General Purpose-, Low Surface Energy (Soft Foam)-, Plastics-, and Primerless-series). For more information regarding the application, please contact your AFTC Representative.

Emblem

Emblem

The emblems/letterings are the signature of the manufacturers. They are mostly made of ABS plastics which makes our SilverTape Direct Foam and general purpose- series the preffered option (Other SilverTape series remain as excellent options as well). The emblems/letterings are the signature of the manufacturers. They add a specific value to your truck, caravan, camper, bus or coach. They are mostly made of ABS plastics which makes our SilverTape Direct Foam and general purpose- series the preffered option (Other SilverTape series remain as excellent options as well). Glass bonding (oven)

Glass bonding (oven)

The glass of the oven is made in different layers consisting out of an inner pane and a colored layer made from a high temperature resistant paint and a reflective layer. This glass will be bonded to a (powder coated) sheet metal. To increase the bond line or improve the process a glass primer (SilverPrime 201) can be used. For more information regarding the application, please contact your AFTC Representative.

Fronts (refrigerator)

Fronts (refrigerator)

Modern refrigerators and freezers consist of a (powder coated) sheet metal outer casing and an inner liner made of plastics. In between these is a layer of acrylic foam tape that acts as a structural material that is applied in appliance manufacturers' assembly line. For these applications you have a choice between all SilverTape series (Direct Foam-, General Purpose-, Low Surface Energy (Soft Foam)-, Plastics-, and Primerless-series. For more information regarding the application, please contact your AFTC Representative.

Seals (refrigerator)

Seals (refrigerator)

Seals in modern refrigerators consist of (synthetic) rubbers, generally PP/EPDM or TPE materials. Depending on the other substrate, mostly consisting out of a (powder coated) sheet metal you have the choice between the AFTC SilverTapes Direct Foam-, General Purpose-, Low Surface Energy (Soft Foam)-, and Primerless-series. For more information regarding the application, please contact your AFTC Representative.
