AFTC’s Ultra Thin SilverTapes are used in a variety of electronics applications where the profile has to be thin. Offered in thickness as thin as 0,15mm, this requirement is fast becoming the standard in the electronics industry.

Screen

In all LCDs (Liquid crystal displays) of laptops, the liquid crystal is sandwiched between 2 pieces of glass or transparent plastic substrates. In between these is a layer of acrylic foam tape that acts as a structural material that is applied in appliance manufacturers' assembly line. For these applications you have a choice between the thin versions of the General Purpose-series (in the thicknesses 0,4 - 0,8) and the Transfer-series (with thicknesses 0,25 - 0,4). Interior

Miscellaneous die cuts are created for multiple parts in the interior of laptops/ tablet & smartphones. For these applications you have a choice between the thin versions of the General Purpose-series (in the thicknesses 0,4 - 0,64) and the Transfer-series (with thicknesses 0,25 - 0,4). Tablets, smartphones, desktops, televisions and laptops are getting smaller and thinner with every new release. The screens for these devices must be bonded in a strong and secure manner. But because of restrictions in dimensions the bonding strength needs to be achieved by a relatively small adhesive surface. AFTC’s Ultra Thin (Transfer) SilverTapes are used in a variety of electronics applications where the profile has to be thin. Offered in thickness as thin as 0.25 mm, this requirement is fast becoming the standard in the electronics industry.

There are a variety of smaller applications that can be found in many of these devices. The mounting of charging sockets, cameras, motherboards etc. are just some of the applications.

LED lighting has skyrocketed over the past years. LED strips or singles LED lights are being manufactured by the millions. LED strips for example are in aircraft to show the direction to the nearest exit. The LED manufactures are bonding their lighting systems with the AFTC transparent SilverTapes. Because these products are produced in high volume, AFTC supplies our transparent tapes in a spool roll format along with the traditional slit roll and log roll formats.

Lastly, when bonding to a single LED light, AFTC’s converters can offer die-cuts in any shape or size required by the customer.
